DESCRIPTION
     The T101R DIODE and SCR tester puts the sophisticated testing capability of high-priced, specialized units into a portable package that is economically priced and easy to use. It includes provisions for checking DIODES and SCR,s for opens, shorts, leaks, and breakdown under actual operating conditions.
     The leakage test applies a continuously variable peak voltage from 0 to 2,000 volts. This test shows if the DIODE or SCR will breakdown under operating conditions and it is monitored by a peak reading DC voltmeter and ammeter. A built in current trip disconnects power if the leakage currents exceeds 15 milliamps during DIODE tests or 10 milliamps during SCR tests.
     The SCR gating test checks gate control characteristics and provides a means of matching SCR,s according to their gate-current characteristics. This test also is monitored by a DC voltmeter and ammeter.

SPECIAL FEATURES

Positively identifies SCR,s that are open, shorted, leaking , breaking down, or gating improperly when voltage is applied.
Positively identifies DIODES that are open, shorted, leaking , or breaking down, when voltage is applied.
P.I.V. breakdown test determines the highest reverse bias voltage that DIODES and SCR,s can safely handle. (NOTE: This test does not damage the device under test)
SCR gating test checks gate control characteristics and matches
SCR,s acording to gate contro characteristics.
Conduction tests for DIODES confirms that the devices are capable of conducting current.
Devices under test disconnected if leakage curent exceeds 15 milli- amps for DIODE tests or 10 milliamps for SCR tests.
Tests take only seconds to complete.
